Whew! A start-to-finish tonight, started at around 10-ish and finished at around 2:20AM, with a couple of little breaks.

November 2013: Sketchums
Sketch dump. (Pencil or Bic pen or orange marker.) (You can tell I've been in a rut, can't you? Haha.)
November 2013: Rainy Day
Completed it, and totally fudged the background with CGTextures.com and some random photo of a rainy window. (I know, cheap of me, but it's just practice art.)

November 2013: In Progress (I Guess)
Feeling very unmotivated lately. (Seriously. Why bother?) Tried to start this a couple of weeks ago. Dunno if I'll bother completing it.
(Someone's Gaia avatar to the right, which I've drawn (left) and have been coloring.)

September 2013: Pencil Stuff
Día de Muertos lady.
One of my original characters, which I don't think I named. (Hop Cat or something..? I dunno.)
In a lonely mood, I drew this:
And I've been promising myself I'd do a good pic of Wonder Woman. Prepping for that with a warm-up:
August 2013: Color Challenge T-Shirt Design
Aaron Brothers put on a sort of contest where you could win prizes for taking a boring "Color Challenge" black-and-white t-shirt and making it purdy. Here are my sketchy watercolor concepts (including some doodles of keys from Tiffany & Co.):
And the final t-shirt design (front and back), made with a fabric pen and acrylic paints:

September 2013: Megami Styles
Trying to figure out a style for a Gaia requested drawing thing for LittleDemonMegami. Really out of practice. Hard to get into a real polished drawing. Exhale.

September 2013: Harley
Since the Animals ABCs series I did in July, I've been slowing down to a rut. None of us care about the details. Where's the dern art, right?
I heard about the whole Harley Contest, but the furthest I managed to get was jut a little sketch I did during a kareoke night. (I sang. It was tragic. The end.) Anyway, those who have known me for a long while may know my little soft spot for jesters and harlequins, and thus Harley. Someday I'll do her justice. Not today though.
Anyway, right after I finished that sketch, I started another one... Just a doodle.

May/June 2013: Gaia Freebies
Gaia Online freebies for The Yankee Vandal,
aaawhyme,
sycophantic courtier, (who didn't seem to like it... Hey, I based the face on Amélie. Boo hoo if it's not generically anime.)
and Sakara_Ayumi. (Who did love it. Generic anime style FTW.)

March 2013 Artses: Neopets?!?!??
Sketches of Kacheeks...
Art requests from Neopets...
I am on Gaia Online, which "is an English-language, anime-themed social networking and forums-based website." I've found it's a community that has a thriving character art marketplace of sorts, thus I've found a lot of inspiration there. (I tend to work on art most when I feel it will have an audience.)
Before Gaia Online, I was also on Neopets, where art was less of a focus and graphic design (buttons, websites, tables, etc.) were more in demand. More recently, I've revisited Neopets to find that users do have an interest in their characters' art. While Gaia Online users compensate artists for commissions, it would seem that Neopets artists do non-compensated requests that may or may not earn recognition of any kind. Additionally, while Gaia Online users tend to ultimately prefer the anime style of art, Neopets users tend to be more flexible about the art style, though consistently prefer characters that are usually some form of anthropomorphic character (or "furry"). While both sites have official site-wide art contests, I think I do prefer the requests on Gaia Online over Neopets.

February 2013 Art Dump
February 2013 art dump:
Unfinished Turanga Leela pencil sketch.
Colored pencil elephants!
Shoe studies (giving myself an excuse to ogle DSW's website.)
Fashionable hatter-puppeteer.
Figuring out how to make hats look like they're naturally resting on a character's head.

March 2013: Sailor Andromeda
To try to get back into the groove, I'm checking out my old sketchbooks. Upon doing so, I discovered some fan art I did, involving Sailor Moon-- characters from the show, and my own fan characters inspired by the show. I also discovered my sister's character-- a sailor senshi named Miyako-Jurai, aka Sailor Andromeda. The only references I could find of her character were that which she drew herself over a decade ago:
Thus, working from these references and my cloudy memories, I give you Sailor Andromeda:
Ink.
Digitally colored.
Details.
Sailor Moon is owned by the beautiful and amazingly talented Naoko Takeuchi, all rights reserved, and all that.
