... Add four or five hours of watercoloring (and maybe a stroke or two of crayon).

February 26, 2012: Hipline
Amongst the wizards, old men, samurais, and blah superhero guys I've been drawing lately, I needed to do something fun for myself. Some artists like drawing mechas, buildings, guns, flowers... I prefer drawing sexy ladies. I was inspired by LMFAO's music videos (and color schemes). I intend to color this.
February 2012: JD
I had jury duty! (Eek!)
Day one sucked 'cause I had a graveyard shift the night before and basically went 24 hours without sleep. Good thing I found out long ago that drawing helps keep me awake! (The things you learn in school!)
I kept nodding off that first day, and that meant my pencil would scrape along the paper, leaving.. admittedly the straightest line on the page, unwanted as it was.
When we had to stand by the door, I looked for one portrait on the wall (which, by the way, had the thickest matting I've ever seen, like 3/8" or 1/2" thick, and beveled!) that I didn't necessarily find handsome, but looked recognizable. I found this guy and scraped him out with a cheapo Bic pen.
I also brought my watercolors along, and found myself working on a concept for that side superhero project. I was thinking about a homemade outfit: dishwashing gloves, running pants, belt ('cause every superhero has a belt!), maybe a go-kart racing hood, and the all-important superhero logo. (He's "Super Guy". Super creative, Super Guy.)
... Yeeaahh, by day 5, I wasn't feeling it anymore. Blah wizard, blah cat. Maybe I was distracted by the court recorder's cute high heels, styled minimalist short hair, lovely thick mascara, and impeccable plum-fuscia lipstick. Man, I should've drawn her instead.

February 5, 2012: Wizards!
I was given the assignment of drawing three wizards.
I was sick at the time, and lacking inspiration, so I took a look at art from "The Hobbit", and a screen graphic from the game Tiny Heroes. I don't own the rights to those two characters/artwork; I just like them and drew them for fun.
The guy on the left and the lowest character are my originals. (The lowest is based on the face of a Persian cat. <3)
Later, I was given the assignment to draw a samurai warrior. I really wasn't feeling it. I'd prefer drawing Mulan, which I watched after I scribbled this doodle just to be done with it.

2011 & 2012: Dramatic Hair Ladies
Early February 2012, I took my sketchbook to the mall, took a break from window shopping, grabbed a coffee and drew this. Originally I intended to color it... I still might, eventually, maybe.
I realized I didn't post this sketch (from November 2011)... and I also realized I will probably never finish it. Meh.
